The Archukid Moments — AP and ARCH year end GT and David’s 22nd Bday Celeb

We are hours away here in the Philippines in ushering 2013 and I’m sure everybody’s prepping up…But of course, yours truly is making this one of my multi-tasking activity…Here’s a recap of our activity last Dec 29 2012.

AM activity with the kids of Bahay Maria

Last year, we planted trees. This year, it was a time spent with kids of Bahay Maria. In a nutshell, the kids taken care in the institution are the ones who have either been abandoned by their families or abused. We were excited, but at the same time didn’t know what to expect or how will the kids react upon our visit. Apparently, grateful that the kids immediately jelled with us. There were games wherein the kids got the chance to join with their big ate’s and kuya’s. After the games, some of the kids sang songs and of course, one was from our very own [pinaghandaan ang peg!] David Archie’s “Crush”!

They also did a performance for the Archies with some Christmas songs. It kept us smiling the whole time seeing they were doing it in performance level…and also the one who acted as Mama Mary — super concentrate talaga sya!

After the performance, it was eating time and gift giving for the kids [with toys, clothes and some school supplies]. For the Archies, it was a life changing and fulfilling experience seeing how these kids appreciated such simple things and that they felt they were special and not neglected. The joy was overwhelming knowing that you get to extend and share your blessings for those who need it.

PM with the ARCH and AP fellows — David’s 22nd bday and Year end GT

Of course in the afternoon, it was our quality time with fellow Archies. Lunch were David Archie faves — pad thai and chicken and jelly [sandwiches on the side!].

After lunch, it was time for some games — hilarious results really! The Santa Claus Dress Up game and the Pin Santa’s Moustache [both were simple games] but suddenly became life changing for some Archies…haha…Better ask those who attended how did that happen ^_^

Raffle was also part of the afternoon activities and this one was a killer for some. There were the lucky ones that day but definitely, no one went home empty handed. Alongside this, there were giveaways for the Archies — cute notebooks [ with David’s pics and lyrics of his songs], Nandito Ako pillows and Begin posters — credits to TV5 for the pillows and Ivory Records and Astroplus for the posters!

It has been a yearly tradition [since we started celebrating David’s birthday] to have the cake, singing Happy Birthday, cake slicing with fashion and then ending up with multiple thoughts if we should eat the cake [cause we just feel it’s better to have it kept that way…hehe]. So here’s the cake for David’s 22nd!

would you ever try to taste a part of that pic? *wink* =p

Before we close this post, we would like to give credit to some people who made this possible:

@nareejo, @jackryan4DA, @lorms, @ascphil, @kricket_rc234, @therandomPinay — for a lot of stuff from donations to raffle prizes and organizing…

TV5 Manila, Ivory Music and Astroplus — giveaways

Bahay Maria — for welcoming us into your home and for the kids who have put a smile on us Archies that day

One Gateway Place [admin / staff] — for the accommodation for our afternoon party

For some names we might have missed to thank, apologies in advance and give us a message so we could properly credit your efforts.

Of course, to all the Archies who joined us in the whole day activity and who also gave donations to the kids, a BIG THANK YOU!

Overall, 2012 has been a good year to all of us Archies. Though it saddens us that this was the year David started on his hiatus for a mission, we still consider it as a blessing that he didn’t leave us just that. He still gave his time and his efforts for us — David’s 38 days in Manila, Forevermore album, Nandito Ako, Begin album. He made us join hands together and made us comfort each other as we move on in the next year still missing him and living what we learned from him — the giving and the sharing to make this world a better place to live in.

As we usher in the New Year 2013, let us be grateful that we Archies have each other and for all the blessings [big or small] we have received in 2012. We hope whatever wishes or goals to achieve will prosper this coming year. We also hope that we come and join hands together as we prepare and welcome back David by 2014!

To all our fellow fangirls and fanguys across the world, HAPPY NEW YEAR ARCHIES!

ps. How did you make a difference in a person’s life this year inspired by David Archuleta or during his recent birthday? Should you have done stuff like what we recently did, give us a buzz and let us know.

another ps: more photos to be posted on our ARCH FB page ^_^
