David Archuleta’s 21st Birthday Celeb!!! [AP and ARCH Pay It Forward Moments]

And suddenly, he is now of legal age…YES!!! David Archuleta turns 21 today and of course, the Filipino Archie fans are not gonna let December 28 just pass by without celebrating his birthday [even if he's on the other half of the globe].

The celebration coordinated with Archuleta Philippines was indeed AWESOME and we all deserve a pat in the back for the success of the whole day’s activities!!!

Tree Planting

Slightly late of schedule, but still kudos to those who came to the activity. It’s not easy waking up on a holiday season like this and too much sunshine didn’t matter, right?

Of course, we all know that David is an advocate of saving the environment…so here we were — took a little sidetrip of La Mesa Eco Park and planted 21 trees [symbolic of the present age of David!!!]

Lunch Time with the Peeps

After burning calories, ’twas time to gain some strength with a hearty lunch at Old Spaghetti House, Robinson’s Pioneer. There was also a little catching up with the rest of the Archies while some stopped by to give their donations too.

Capping off the afternoon was packing the donations given by our fellow goodhearted Archies for the victims of Sendong in Mindanao. In between packing of donations, we sang “Happy Birthday” and ate the yearly AWESOMESAUCE David Archuleta’s cake. Also, we had the raffle draw of some David Archie stuff [that made the peeps smiling from ear to ear and screaming...buti na lang asa loob kame ng function room...hehe].

The efforts didn’t end in the packing…The donations were sent to GMA Kapuso Foundation by the rest of the AP peeps before heading their separate ways home…Kudos to Jayson [@jheizenne], Bree and the rest of the folks who lent extra time to send our donations there.

Info c/o AP: All in all, we were able to donate up to a total of almost PHP27,000 that were converted to relief goods: 20 5-gallon jugs of water, groceries, etc plus donations in kind from our fellow Filipino Archies [clothes, bags, shoes, etc]. In total, we sent 7 big boxes that can make a d-ifference for 50 families.

Before we wrap this up, we’d just like to extend our very special thanks to some peeps who have extended a little excess of some things that made our whole day activity a good one…

A really jampacked day it was, but something worthwhile and noble just the way our Idol, David Archuleta has been doing thru the years. Big things come from small beginnings and it’s because of all our little efforts that this became a very awesome and fruitful activity.

In behalf of ARCH and Archuleta Philippines, endless thanks to you, our fellow Filipino Archie fans!!! Let’s keep the inspiration from David’s good heart alive in our homes and communities. David may be away soon for a 2-year mission but our passion to be kind and caring should continue…We shall stay in touch for updates and upcoming activities soon…

Plant a Tree, Save Lives — Our Dec 28 Event (update/s version 1.2)

How’s my fellow Archies at the moment??? I know we’re all in a stir of different emotions from the news that our David is going to be on a mission for 2 years [and certainly, that's no joke].  But then again, we gotta get thru this…

Recently, while the rest of the ARCH peeps have been beefing up for the upcoming activity, a wrath of Mother Nature struck our fellow Pinoys in the Mindanao area. Bagyong Sendong hit the provinces of Mindanao, most especially Cagayan de Oro and Iligan City which caused families homeless or in grief due to a loss of a loved one.

In this plight, Angels Reaching Out with Caring Hearts suddenly whipped up some changes for our December 28 activity. We just felt that it is a bit inconsiderate to still celebrate while the rest of the country stirs up some Bayanihan spirit to help our fellowmen. We are cancelling the 21st birthday party for our awesome Idol — David Archie — to give way for something timely and of a better and higher purpose [higher cause we all know that our David is going on a 2-year mission June next year].

Here now are the almost full deets of our upcoming activity:

1. Tree Planting deets

Meeting Time and Place (tree planting): 8:30-9:00am 9:30 to 10:00am Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf, Gateway, Cubao branch — ok, sorry, but let’s be seriously on time for this…and you’ll know why

Tree Planting Time and Place: 10-11:00am 11:00 to 12:00nn(only) La Mesa Eco Park — [so now you know why i said that a while ago...hehe]

Trees to plant: 21!!! Yes, significantly, it’s David’s 21st birthday. Thanks much to Nareejo and the folks of ARCH for covering up the expenses for the 21 trees.

Transportation to Eco Park: FREE TRANSPO for the 1st 15 who will confirm. Apologies in advance for the inconvenience. Of course everybody is welcome to come and join us there. Hope you would understand, the rest will have to travel together [commute po...]. We will advise via email or DM / message those will be counted in riding the van…Again, pasensya na po in advance.

Prior to our Donation Drive activity, we will be heading to Robinson’s Pioneer and have lunch by 12:00nn. For lunch, we will be KKB [dutch treat un, folks] but rest assured we got the birthday cake covered [party mode pa den right?]

2. Donation Drive / Packing deets

Donation Drive Meeting Time and Place: 1:00pm at One Gateway Place, Pioneer St., Mandaluyong City [this is beside Cybergate building --- minutes away from Rob Pioneer]

From 1 to 3pm, we will be packing the goods and by 3pm, we will send them over to GMA Kapuso Foundation…

Suggested Donations: slippers, toiletries [eg. bath soap, detergent], underwear, canned goods, biscuits, water, old clothes

Definitely, we are still going to have this…We’re just putting a little twist to it…

The raffle will be done on the day itself.

We are two weeks away from the awesooommeeesauce 21st birthday celeb of David Archuleta and also of the ARCH event we are whipping up…
